PAINT WHAT'S ON YOUR HEART

Everyone welcome! No painting experience necessary.

We all carry emotions (positive, negative and some that have no name) about the situations and challenges Life throws our way.

When those emotions are kept inside for too long, roiling around in our guts and hearts, they can cause all manner of physical havoc.  But if we can externalize them through talking, writing and/or painting, they can be examined in a new light. We can keep what is worth keeping and release what is no longer serving the betterment of the whole.

During this day workshop we will start with a brief meditation to anchor everyone into their bodies followed by a brief writing exercise to get some ideas out where we can see them.   Sharing is optional.   After we have taken time to examine our thoughts and feelings, we will next turn to the canvas to paint what has come up.

Using several techniques learned while studying Intentional Creativity©, participants will be guided through several steps to declare their intention for their painting and then to prime their canvases with base colors that have personal meaning for them.  There will be several prompts to initiate ideas about how to translate the personal inner dialogue into a painted form that satisfies the painter by the end of the workshop.

You don’t have to have any experience as a writer or as a painter.   There is something that happens internally when we begin without knowing everything.   Sometimes the painting shows us something the thinking mind has not found the words for.

This is an invitation to take the inner dialogue or feelings and put them outside yourself in full color to examine.

Something you care about.

Something you are ready to release.

Something you are becoming.

Something you might not have words for yet.

Spaces Limited to 15.

All materials will be provided.  Please bring an apron and your own lunch (or buy in downtown during the lunch break). If you have your own materials, easels, or paint (acrylic only please) you would like to use, you are welcome to bring them.

Tea, drinks and snacks provided.

Contact us if you have questions.
