Language shapes everything we think, everything we do, everything we think we are supposed to think, everything we think we are supposed to do or not do.
Although the English language is full of phrases relating to death and dying, certain euphemisms have also developed over the year that we inherit generation to generation. Some make sense, maybe…Some don’t really…much.
Some are hugely unhelpful and rarely relate to our actual experience
when someone we love dies.
Do we ever stop and consider what we are staying? Or if saying it like it is, would be more helpful to our friends and family?
At the same time, we use words about death freely in strange
everyday sayings and phrases.
