{Furniture, Textile & Items Installation}
In the past, it was extremely common for babies or infants to die young. Even though medicine and technology have advanced, it still happens. Ironically in the past it was probably more ‘normal’ and accepted. Today in 2024, there is still a stigma about it and is one of the specific types of death people
don’t want to talk about.
When we lose a baby or a child, we may want to leave the nursery as it was, stuck in time. Eventually we may keep precious items in a keepsake box – some clothes, some photos, our hospital wrist tag, birth certificate etc. Because our society largely tells us not to talk about our experiences, the items get hidden away in secret places in our closet. Now and then we bring it down and look and it and ponder and remember and wonder about the what ifs.
We may believe that society wanted us to shut it away. In reality, it remains hanging right in front of our face all the time, every day, every minute we are awake and breathing. It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened. It feels like yesterday.
